Photography and film lover, Melissa Diaz, 12, plans on pursuing her dream to become a Youtuber as an adult. “What got me into making YouTube videos is that I like to film other things and people, and I think it’s really fun and cool to edit vlogs,” Melissa said. “I am trying to make more therapeutic videos.”

On stage performing with her band, Crimson Apple, bassist Carthi Benson plays for the students of Downey High School at High School Nation’s 2019 Tour on Mar. 31. The Benson sisters grew up in Hawaii and moved to the big city of Los Angeles where they now write, play, and rehearse their music.

The artist behind the Love Letters exhibit, Maricela Avina, worked on her self-portrait and other paintings for 11 months before they could be displayed at the Stay Gallery on December 1st. “The love letter has kinda died where you’re physically writing a letter, now its like a text or an email, so I think the love letter is very personal,” Avina said, “…and the whole back in the Victorian days were the wax seal was a very special way of sealing that letter; whoever broke it, thats who it was meant for.”
