![The man who created this exhibit, Eduardo Viramontes, has his own way of thinking about his art. “I always believed in myself, so I just kept making stuff no matter what people thought of my art,” Viramontes stated. “I wanted to make it for myself and I always want to just get better at what I do. Its nice to look back and see how far youve gotten and realizing all the things youve accomplished. It keeps me motivated too.”](https://www.thedowneylegend.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Strawberry-Fields-1-900x675.jpg)

![The artist behind the Love Letters exhibit, Maricela Avina, worked on her self-portrait and other paintings for 11 months before they could be displayed at the Stay Gallery on December 1st. “The love letter has kinda died where you’re physically writing a letter, now its like a text or an email, so I think the love letter is very personal,” Avina said, “…and the whole back in the Victorian days were the wax seal was a very special way of sealing that letter; whoever broke it, thats who it was meant for.”](https://www.thedowneylegend.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Love_Letters_Garcia_Amy_2_72_A-900x600.jpg)

![Silence of the Lambs was shown on October 21 for Fright Night at the Stay Gallery, hosted by Downey High’s Stay Connected club, where adults and children were charged a small amount at the door, and profits went to the Breast Cancer Foundation. “I think it’s great that there’s support for this foundation,” Cruz Corrales, Fright Night attendee, said. “It’s cool that the people who managed the movie are teenagers and can get their friends or anyone else to donate too.”](https://www.thedowneylegend.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/DSC_0142-900x483.jpg)
