    About the Writers

    Jesus Aguayo-Cerda, Writer
Formally enrolled in AP U.S. History and currently enrolled in AP Microeconomics, senior Jesus Aguayo-Cerda believes that the social sciences are the least harrowing classes he has to take in his high school career. “I wouldn’t say I enjoy it; I’d say [social science] is the least painful out of the classes you have to take,” Aguayo-Cerda said. “It teaches you about different branches; it’s more vocal and not all ‘grunt-work.’”

Despite Jesus’s obviously biblical stemmed name, Jesus is an actively assertive person. He consistently and repeatedly voices his honest and true opinion. At such a ripe age he knows who he is, what he likes and what he believes in. Jesus speaks his mind without fear of consequence. Jesus seeps bravery in an unusual sense, he doesn't jumps off cliffs nor does he stop criminals to the best of my knowledge. Instead he expresses his mind which is something that most people are too afraid to do these days.

Along with his privacy he holds his political views to heart without wavering. Jesus has such a passion for freedom of speech that he joined podcast for the freedom of voicing his opinion.

He pursues to become a politician with strong and high morals for individual choice. Jesus is an passionate writer when the subject relates back to his values. When I first met him he really annoyed me and we fought constantly but with time I got used to him and started to find his sarcasm slightly funny.

    Adam Bhuiyan, Podcaster
Avid sci-fi enthusiast, Adam Bhuiyan, 12, discusses his interest of science, astronomy, and the discovery of our universe. “I’m amazed in the study of astronomy and astrology,” Bhuiyan stated. “It interest me how little we know about our universe and what we can discover.”

When I met Adam, I thought he was a standard guy at Downey High, but as we worked on the Cinematography of Horror Films podcast together, my view drastically changed. He went from standard to amazing. Quiet to rambunctious. Distant to loving.

Eight months later, he has been nothing less than sweet, patient, and supportive to not only me but also his other friends and family. Adam goes far beyond expectations and goes out of his way to help even if he gets nothing in return. Adam has a drive to move past the adversities and work around them, unwilling to yield. He went through hard times, yet I never witnessed him give up. He never threw a pencil across the room in anger from a difficult math problem. He never stormed out of a friendship because of one tough patch. He never hung up on me when I screamed and cussed and thrashed about drama over the phone. Once you earned his loyalty, he is really, truly 100% there, never to drop the ball. I do not know what I did to earn such a loyal partner-in-crime, but what I do know is that I would never rather spend the last eight months with anyone else.

    Michael Pasaye, Writer
With an unexplainable passion for water polo and writing, senior Michael Pasaye is eager to experience every last bit of high school before he heads off to college. “I’m ready to start a new chapter in my life,” Pasaye said. “Being independent and experiencing a new environment is something I’m definitely looking forward to.”

Michael has something to him that I don’t really see in much people. He has a personality you honestly can’t dislike in anyway, even if you tried. The way he goes about school and his friends and just really life is something to truly be admired.

He rarely lets the negativity he encounters affect him. Michael always manages to find some that will make him happy, even when there really isn’t much to be happy about. Whether he plays a weird song that he likes or just wants to be around his friends, he’ll find a way to keep himself in the best mood possible which is hard for anyone to do, and yet he does it like nothing.

Micheal when it comes to his work is great. He knows how to get along with anyone he works with. I got to see this up front, as I worked with him on podcast and man was he fun to work with. When he came to podcast from being a writer, he had so many ideas that just clicked right away like “hey, that's actually a really good idea” and we all genuinely thought that he had good ideas for podcasts. I don’t think there is one idea he brought up that we turned down, and once we agreed to his idea, he made it work well. He just has a knack to spread his thoughts onto others and get them to like it.

The thing that made all of personality click is that he is s not trying to be someone he’s not. Michael is someone that will be himself no matter who or what is in front of him, and that’s what really shapes him into a great person. People get caught up in trying to get everyone to like them and being friends with everyone, but not him. He just wants to be himself, which is really what makes him such a fantastic figure and a truly enjoyable friend to have in anyone’s life.
