Marvel announced a two part sequel to Avengers: Age of Ultron, called Infinity War. The upcoming movie will be released in theatres in two parts, the first segment of Infinity War being released May fourth, and the second part on March second of 2019. This movie is going to be the newest installment to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after their previous release of Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther.

Senior Hailey Hage watched all of the movies Marvel came out with and has marathons watching them in Marvel’s chronological timeline. With some of the actors’ contracts ending after this movie, she calls the feeling bittersweet, describing the actors as ‘practically born to play their characters.’

Hage’s favorite character is Loki Laufeyson, who is played by the actor Tom Hiddleston. She is uncertain if he will be alongside the Avengers or Thanos, the star villian in the film.

“I honestly think the ending of Infinity War will be shocking and more than likely heartbreaking,” Hage said. “I really don’t want anyone to die, but I know it’s inevitable. If I had to pick a character that ends up dying, it would be Captain America and Vision. As for alliances go, I hope Loki’s allegiance is to the Avengers.”

Juan Gonzalez, 12, believes Infinity War can end in many ways, but feels that it will end in many tragedies, and deaths, and thinks there is a chance for Tony Stark and Steve Rogers to die. Gonzalez is saddened to know that this is the last movie for some actors, but will continue to support them when they branch off in their careers.

“Captain America is definitely my favorite hero,” Gonzalez said. “He has always been a strong-willed character who will do what he believes is right, and his sense of justice has influenced and inspired many. He will appear in the movie without a doubt and play a significant role.”

Yahaira Izaguirre, senior, finds it hard to choose between her two favorite characters, Iron Man and Spiderman. She grew up watching their shows and movies. She has no doubt Captain America or Iron Man will die, and thinks the ending is going to bother a lot of the fans if they, or any other Avenger ends up dying.

“I’m sort of bummed because the actors are the reason why I love watching Marvel movies,” Izaguirre said. “At the same time, this allows for other Marvel characters to be introduced.”

Infinity War will have characters from Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Ant-Man and Doctor Strange. The movie is directed by the Joe and Anthony Russo, who have also directed both Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Civil War, and the second installment of Infinity War. Originally written by Jim Starlin, the Infinity War comics were six issues long and published by Marvel Comics in 1992.
