“Finesse” by Bruno Mars

“Finesse” appeared in Bruno Mars 24K Album, but was later revamped by Cardi B. “Finesse” brings a little 90s style, with the beat and clothing used in the colorful music video. Since the single’s release on Jan. 4, fans have gone crazy dancing to this upbeat jam!

“Finesse” was inspired by In Living Color, which was  a TV show that aired during 1990-1994. In Living Color was an American Comedy Sketch Television Series created by Keenen and Damon Wayans. Similar to In Living Color, Mars also brought in Fly Girls – dancers who appeared after every sketch.

It is now number three in the top 100 Billboard chart under Havana by Camila Cabello.

This song does sound better and is more of an upbeat song than his recent song, “That’s What I Like,” released in 2017. “Finesse” was recently performed on The Grammys in the same colorful outfits they wore in the music video.

I think this song is a really great addition to Bruno Mars’ album because his other songs do not have the 90s style that “Finesse” has. “Finesse” is his only song on his album that features a female rapper.

“We out here drippin in finesse, it don’t make no sense”  really stands out to me because Mars is talking about how he has a lot of money to show off and money to spend on clothing.

I think this song is unique with the 90s vibe Mars brings. It makes you want to jump around and always brings a smile to your face.
