Latching onto Disclosure’s new song

“Latch”, the lead single of British garage-duo Disclosure’s album Settle made its official debut in the United Kingdom on Oct. 8, 2012. After shooting through the roof and reaching number 11 on the United Kingdom Single’s Chart, the song was finally released in the United States almost two years later on Feb. 4, 2014. This rare pop song is full of unique beats and passionate voices as well as heartfelt lyrics such as: “I’m latching on babe, now I know what I have found.” This song, like many, is written about falling head over heels in love with someone, but “Latch” takes a turn by revealing the adventure of figuratively (or literally) latching on to someone else: “Now I’ve got you in my space, I won’t let go of you / I’ve got you shackled in my embrace, I’m latching on to you.”The music video shows a wide variety of couples (biracial, homosexual, and straight) connecting in different surroundings in their own way. The hot new single has been played recently on radio stations around the world and was featured on The Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon. Disclosure’s “Latch” is predicted to gain more attention and publicity as the days come.
