When shoppingsmall and supporting local businesses, customers often feel more satisfied with how they’ve shopped. They get to have personal conversations when buying. Shopper Metztli Garcia describes her experience while shopping at Casita Del Pueblo in Uptown Whittier.  “I really enjoyed talking to the owner and understanding the store and everything about it,” Garcia said. “I love my cute little keychains I got and I think it’s important to shop local businesses this year especially because it’s so hard on them to keep their business running.”

Many families this year will not be able to reunite with their distant relatives and Emily Orozco, 10, describes her struggles of seeing family members during the winter holidays. “This pandemic has created more obstacles to see more of our [distant] family members,” Orozco stated. “It’s not good to spend time with too many people, so we [my family] will be wishing some of our family members a happy holiday over the phone.”
