Downey Students: How are they staying Healthy during Online learning

Many students have had extra time on their hands to get healthier and Gloria Falach, 10, tells us about her experience with diet changes she's made. “The biggest change I’ve made since quarantine is I’m trying to eat healthier,” Falach stated, “Since I have a lot of [extra] time.”

Entering her first year as a photographer, Valerie Mora, 10, hopes to expand her interest in journalism and push herself outside her comfort zone to achieve her college and career goals. Outside of school, Mora dedicates her time to photography, fashion design, and community service. After high school, she plans to attend either UCLA or USC, major in Psychology, and become a psychologist.
“Something about the human brain and the way it works and the way certain people react to certain situations based on how they were raised or things that have happened to them just really interests me,” Mora said. “I like to figure things out, I like analyzing things, and I want to help those people who have struggled with mental illnesses so that they don’t feel alone.”
