The seven-member hip-hop group, BTS, released a music video on several media outlets for their first single “Run” off of their new mini-album The Most Beautiful Moment In Life, Part 2 on Nov. 29. During a press conference, the group talked about the new album and some of its themes and concepts. “Part one explained how youth is tiring and difficult, and it also touched on how we feel like we’re always on edge,” BTS said. “Part two will have a more adventurous and daring feel to it. That’s why our song title is ‘Run’.” The EP or mini-album, The Most Beautiful Moment In Life, Part 2 was released the day after, on Nov. 30. The album itself is climbing up on multiple charts, not only in America, but also in BTS’s home country, South Korea. The song is a relatively upbeat one, with a catchy chorus and amazing instrumentals, but the lyrics tell a heartbreaking story. “Even if I reach out, my dream shatters. Even if I run crazily, I don’t get anywhere. Please just let me be, please let me be.” “Run” is an emotional love song. They are willing to do anything for their significant other, but it results in hurting themselves. The music video for “Run” is a continuation to two other music videos, the first in the series being a twelve- minute video simply titled as “BTS on stage: prologue.” The second video in the story was for the first single released off on The Most Beautiful Moment In Life, Part 1 which was “I Need You.” All the videos are beautifully shot, and it captivates viewers with a storyline that’s completely different from the story the songs tell.
