For Downey High School, the annual DHS vs Warren game isn’t just about football; it’s about school spirit. From the student section roaring in the crowds to the halftime performance, the
dance team helped turn the night into a memorable day. After hours of rehearsing and perfecting their moves, the DHS dance team was ready to perform
in front of everyone in the stadium. Before this happened, Downey’s dance team shared how long they’ve been practicing and preparing for this game.

Bella Hiron, a junior, was especially excited to perform at such a large venue. “I just love the energy that both schools give,” said Hiron. Hiron is expecting DHS to win because Downey’s
football team has been doing amazing with all the wins from previous football games. “Everyone, It’s gonna have a good vibe, I love the dance so much,” stated Hiron.
Senior Michaela Steven is super thrilled to perform at the LA Galaxy Stadium because she has never danced there before. Steven hopes that the Vikings win this year like they did last year. “I’m looking forward to performing in front of so many people because last time I performed at Sofi was so much fun and a little nerve-racking, but I just know this time is going to be just as good,” Steven stated.
For the Downey Dance team, performing at the Warren vs. Downey game was a night they’ll never forget, it was filled with cheers, memories, and school pride. It’s moments like these that remind students what makes DHS such a special place.
