Originally taking interest in writing in middle school, Anabelle Rositas, 12, continues to write teen fiction stories as a creative outlet. “It was definitely something different,” Rositas said. “I found something I loved. I love their [readers] reactions. That’s basically why I keep writing, because of the reactions that I give people, whether it makes them sad or happy or question their entire existence.”

At the Dia De Los Muertos Festival at the Downey Civic Theatre on Oct. 30, an art sculpture created by artist, Martin Sanchez, is displayed. The sculpture was made using recycled can lids, soda cans, and other recycled materials.

During the first meeting in the school theatre, on October 5, Jonathan Zaragoza, 11, Everette Sanchez, 9, Danny Corzo, 11, and Sussy Sanchez, 11, set up on stage for the first time. This group of recently admitted Comedy Sportz members stepped on stage to show off their improv skills and challenge their dramatic skills.
