Mariah Adalpe, 12, has won CIF in girls wrestling in the Eastern Division 1. With her hard work and dedication, she has overcome many obstacles, ”I missed out on parties and going out with my friends to be able to prepare for CIF,” Adaple stated. She has been in wrestling for four and a half years. Four and a half years full of dedication,” I trained almost 5 hours a day, it was very intense, but without it, I don’t think I would have been prepared to win,” Adalpe said. Adalpe loves wrestling; it’s one of her favorite things to do, “my father was a state champion, so ever since I was little, I wanted to follow in his footsteps,” Adpale said. Because of all her hard work and dedication, she came out number one in CIF Eastern Division 1. Winning first place is such an achievement for Mariah,” it feels amazing to win CIF, I worked very hard to achieve this goal,” Adalpe says. Within these years she has grown so much, “freshman year I’d go 0-2 and never placed but this year I placed at every tournament I went to,” Aldape said.
