Senior’s Last Rivalry and League Soccer Game

Playing the last Downey versus Warren, rivalry soccer game, Eric Moral, 12, feels anxious yet excited because it is the last game. “I still haven’t fully processed this is my last rivalry game.” Moral continues, “I heard that Downey’s soccer program was one of the best around and I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I wanted to commit all my time to soccer and I’ve been playing for 14 years now.”

Varsity Lacrosse player Carla Vente, 12, ends her final year at Downey High as a photographer on The Downey Legend newspaper. Aspiring to pursue a career as a CSI Agent due to her interest in Chemistry and CSI shows, Vente aims to major in Criminal Justice at the University of Santa Barbara.
Vente has been a member of the Amigos Club for two years and has spent her lunch time hanging out with the special needs students on campus. She enjoys spending time with her friends and surrounding herself with people she cares about, “I tend to put others before myself,” Vente said, “I don’t know, I am just a caring person.”
