At the Light Show

As Christmas time approaches, The Los Angeles Zoo lights up the night sky during the month of December to bring holiday spirit. The whole park is decorated with colorful balls to create alleyways, and vibrant lights dangle from the trees and zoo animals that light up the sky.

Visiting California on vacation, mother of two, Veronica Sanchez, enjoys viewing the elephant light show with her family.

“I’m shocked on how beautiful the zoo is decorated with bright colors,” Sanchez said. “It’s great to sit and look at all the kids running around. It’s quite the sight to see.”

Five year old, Olivia Martin, was ecstatic about everything from the dance party under the disco balls, to the live reindeer in the village.

“I met Santa Claus and his reindeers,” Martin said. “This is the best day of my life I love Christmas animals. They’re so cute.”

LA Zoo worker, Zack Estrada, enjoyed setting up the scene to watching families gather under the holiday lights singing along to Christmas music.

“Setting all of the lights up was tedious, but it was worth every moment of it because now we have created a huge light park,” Estrada said. “It is great to see the look of astonishment on the faces of the kids and the parents. It’s a place for all to enjoy.”
LA Zoo Lights is back for the holiday season by showcasing light shows in every village, water shows near the marine life exhibit, Santa Claus, and real reindeer. This has created a holiday atmosphere for families to enjoy during the Christmas time.
