In grade five, Emily Rivas, 10, began making YouTube videos, which helped developed her interest in attending the Los Angeles Film School to become a director. “When I was little I looked up to a lot of directors, like Tim Burton,” Rivas said. “I really want to be a director, just [for] the fact that I can be incharge.”
Valeriee Menjivar, Comic Artist
Having a variety of interests such as literature and art, Valerie Menjivar, 11, finds her unique style when inspired by every one of them. “ I’ve struggled since moving to this country,”Menjivar said. “Although, now that I’m here I’ve gotten the chance to express myself in all the senses of the word. I don’t like to follow the norm; instead, I like to think outside the box.”
