Drake and SZA Collaboration

In August, Toronto rapper Aubrey, famously known as Drake, revealed on his social media platforms that his new album FOR ALL THE DOGS, will be released on October 6, 2023. Many fans of Drake weren’t expecting a new album, especially since being on tour, “It’s all a blur.”

On tour at one of his concerts in Austin Texas, he announced that a single was coming out soon.

He later announced his newest single with SZA on September 13, 2023. Both these artists are collaborating for the first time. The single Slime You Out was released on September 15, 2023.

Drake’s main album cover FOR ALL THE DOGS is a drawing of a dog that his 5-year-old son Adonis drew and is the inspiration for the album’s name. For the new single, Slime You Out, the album cover is Halle Berry getting slimed at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award. Sharing his thoughts on Drake and SZA’s latest single, Kevin Del Rio, 11, shows his genuine opinion reaction.

“It’s a good song but neither artist’s best song,” said Del Rio. “I honestly expected more from them since they are both talented artists who have gone out way more for other songs.”

This single mainly relates to people using each other in relationships as benefits and later being dumped on. However, Drake and SZA had some lyrics mentioning them dating back in 2008 leading to many fans finding out about their early dating days. Drake also says all the stages people go through throughout the year. Many fans could also relate to our experiences with love and relationships like Mandy Sibrian, 11.

“I feel like Drake didn’t come through per usual hype, but he did express a lot of emotion on his past relationships,” said Sibrian. “I’d like to see if his upcoming album will be a hit and have better song collaborations, but for now Views will still be my favorite album by Drake.”

Long-time Drake fan, Kaley Sandoval, 11, shares how Drake’s new single is way more of a laid-back chill song with a lot of meaning. “It’s a song where a lot of people can admit that they can relate to it, and when he starts describing the months you can tell he’s trying to get over the girl who hurt him and describes how he felt each month when with the girl and when he was no longer with her,” said Sandoval. “SZA is clearly saying how she is saying how she’s over him after all the wrong and how she’s longer bothered with him and can’t understand what he has to say.”

This single wasn’t too hyped up by fans. They have also been frustrated by the two-week delay in his album dates, but Drake explains how the tour has been a lot and knows fans will be excited. “If you never loved anything I’ve ever done in the past, I promise you, this album will be for you. It’ll be worth the wait.” Till then numerous fans are counting down the days for October 6, 2023, the album drop FOR ALL THE DOGS. There has been so much excitement and love for Drake this year, especially since being on tour.
