Ivy Tobar (she/her), Illustrator
Entering her first in-person school year as a new-found member of The Downey Legend, Sophomore, Ivy Tobar, approaches her first semester on campus with intentions to utilize her pre-existing skills and abilities for the benefit of the Newspaper team. This year, Tobar strives to provide illustrated promotion for underrepresented groups and clubs around campus. As a student who spent their first year of highschool via distance learning, Tobar has dedicated herself to having fun and getting involved to make up for lost time and experiences at Downey High. With a clear future career path in mind, Tobar reveals the early steps she is taking in order to reach her professional aspirations.
“I’m always working as hard as I can,” Tobar stated, “Everything I’ve been doing here at Downey is just in preparation to reach my future goal. I want to be an ecological engineer so hopefully one day I will get there.”
