As a first year staff member, junior Maya Dominguez joined the The Downey Legend as Public Relations Manager. “My friend told me about The Downey Legend and it seemed like a really good idea for me to join,” Dominguez said. She joined the newspaper staff in hopes of spicing up her everyday life as well as to keep her occupied. Now as the Public Relations Manager, her job is to plan bonding days, celebrate the birthdays of the newspaper staff, and keep the environment nice and stress free. Dominguez understands that her job may seem easy on the outside, but that it takes someone with her patience and good attitude to pull off the job.

Outside of school, Dominguez lives with her family of six as well as two dogs named Puppy and Winnie. She has been a vegetarian since her freshmen year of high school and her favorite food is cheese pizza. In her spare time, Dominguez goes on YouTube to watch her favorite YouTubers – Jc Caylen and Damon Fizzy. After high school, Dominguez hopes to attend a 4-year-university. “I don’t know which college I want to go to,” said Dominguez, “but I do know that I want to go into forensics.” She desires to live a happy and financially stable life with a family of her own. As far as her current life goes, Dominguez is excited to be a part of The Downey Legend staff.
