For the past 23 years, Mr. Alvarez, new dean of students, was located at Sussman Middle School and recently transferred to Downey High School to become familiar with the high school level. “I decided to come to the high school to learn the high school level. I know the middle school level and I wanted to get to know the high school,” Alvarez continues. “I wanted to work with more of the students I have worked previously with at the middle school.”
