Starting her second year on the Downey Legend, senior Laila Barrera takes on the role of Business Manager, where she enjoys exploring the business side of newspaper and creating engaging social media posts. Outside of newspaper, Barrera is an ASB Commissioner for Clubs and Organizations and a writing center tutor. She hopes to study history at community college before transferring to UC Santa Barbara, drawn to the subject’s storytelling aspect and even considering a future pathway with the FBI. In her free time, she enjoys baking, staying organized, and connecting with others, even while admitting she sometimes struggles with procrastination and stress.
