If you’re looking for a chill breakfast or lunch spot in Downey, Pop’s Café is the place. It’s got that old-school diner vibe with Route 66 signs, license plates on the walls, and friendly people all around. We tried a few things around breakfast time. The Belgian waffle with strawberries, bananas, and whipped cream was super good, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The cheeseburger and fries were classic and tasty, like something straight out of a 1950s diner. And the French toast we got to-go was just the right amount of sweet, especially with syrup and butter on the side. With a cherry Coke and coffee to top it off, the whole meal hit the spot. Pop’s Café is definitely one of those local places that makes you feel at home, and it’s perfect for a weekend breakfast or a casual hangout.
