With his popularity quickly growing, recent news has sent fans and authorities into an ongoing investigation. The discovery of a decomposed body in the back of a Tesla registered under David Anthony Burke, d4vds’ real name, has sparked an uproar in his music once again. Fans of his work, Pedro Davila, a student at DHS, and long-time fan Edin Cardenas, provide their thoughts on the case and how things have developed thus far. The question everyone’s asking is, “Did D4vd really commit such a terrible crime”? With all the newly uncovered evidence of the shocking relationship between David and the victim, Celeste Riva Herenandez, who at the time of her discovery was only 14, and Burke, who is currently 20, there is an overwhelming possibility of Burke’s involvement in the case. Before Hernandez’s body was found, she had been reported missing by her mother on April 5th, 2024, at the age of only 13, and had been a runaway twice before that in January and March of that same year. Dalvia provides his own interesting theories on this case. Stating, “the way he promotes himself and his music, there’s a lot against him, and like again the fact that he’s, you know, talking to this girl named Celeste, and in his concerts and in his music, it’s more like he’s mourning the loss of her”.
Another big question surrounding this case is the search for an alibi. Burke and his now-canceled tour began on August 5th, 2025. With a very packed schedule, the possibility of him having enough downtime to even go back and forth to LA to where he was performing, where small, but not zero. Loopholes were discovered, and it was found that the singer had about 11 free days spread out between July, August, and September, leading up to the discovery of
Hernandez’s body on September 8th of this year. However, this does not confirm his involvement in the crime. Cardenas weighs in on the speculation, stating, “I can’t say for certain whether he was involved or not, but based on the evidence, there’s a strong possibility that he was.” Any press release related to the case remains vague, and the only significant links found between him and the crime are his car and his relationship with Herenandez. As the investigation continues and more information comes to light, the truth behind this tragic case will ultimately determine David’s fate and the impact it will have on his growing career.
