Harry Styles “Medicine”

Harry Styles, a member of One Direction, recently kicked off his world tour in Paris by debuting his song “Medicine.” Styles also performed the song “Anna” for the first time. With the extended hiatus One Direction has been on for two years, it is not surprising to see him finally being able to express himself through music and doing whatever genre he wants to. His music style is like oldies- rock. “Medicine” is no exception. In the song, the lyrics “I’m coming down, I figured out I kinda like it, and when I sleep I’m gonna dream of how you,” actually reference the adrenaline rush felt by him being with someone, like his form of medicine that is able to give him the rush, and he slowly comes down from the high, and is wanting more the next time. Due to the lyrics and the nature of the song, a lot of people have called it the bisexual anthem. “The boys and the girls are in, I mess around with ’em, and I’m okay with it” The lyrics do not target just the girls, but the boys as well. Specifying both boys and girls, and then later on saying he is okay with both of ‘them.’ Personally I think it is just Harry being Harry. The song to me is soothing yet gives you that 90s bad boy/ girl vibe.
