After experiencing an acca-embarrassing mishap while performing for the President of the United States, the three-time national champions, the Barden Bellas, must sing their hearts out to win the biggest international acappella competition in the world in order to be allowed to compete at the collegiate level once again. In the journey to redefine themselves as a united group, the ladies enlist former Bella, Aubrey (Anna Camp), to help them unite and become the Bellas they once were.
As the Bellas compete for the international title, many teams from around the world are shown singing Anyway You Want It by Journey in their native tongue. Real acappella groups such as Pentatonix, the Filharmonic, and Penn Masala played the international teams, who were shown competing in Copenhagen against the Bellas and Das Sound Machine, their rival team from Germany.
The movie was number one opening weekend in the U.S. and made an estimated $70 million in the U.S. alone and $120 million worldwide. The movie has been given 3.7 out of 5 stars on IMDb, 3.5 out of 5 stars from Rotten Tomatoes, and 3 out of 5 stars from Common Sense Media. Pitch Perfect 2 lived up to its well-loved forerunner and gave a whole new list of aca-awesome phrases and jokes for teens around the globe to use.

In her down time, Rodriguez enjoys reading young adult literature, writing fictional stories, and spending quality time with her cell phone on websites like YouTube, Tumblr, and Twitter. Besides being in Newspaper at school, she is also a new tutor at Downey High’s Writing Center. Writing as much as possible is important to her because she dreams of one day being an author. Along with chasing her aspirations of writing for a living, after she finishes high school, Rodriguez also looks forward to attending a university such as UCLA, San Diego State, or UC San Diego and obtaining a degree in English. Next summer, she will also be going on a missionary trip with church to Japan. Although her head is full of thoughts about the surreal future, for now Rodriguez is focusing on her schoolwork and activities and soaking up her last year as a high schooler.

When she is not busy with drum line and school, she spends time with her two older sisters or her half-brother. Sometimes, when she is alone in her room, she listens to her favorite band, My Chemical Romance, while drawing different sketches of anything she sees or imagines. When she is hungry, she always prefers pasta. “Any kind of pasta is my favorite,” Guzman said,“ I love Italian food.” Though reading is never on her top priority list, she read The Fault in our Stars this summer and fell in love with it. Because she is only a sophomore, Guzman does not yet know what she wants to do after high school, but she does know that she wants to go somewhere far. In a few years she sees herself living an independent life while chasing her dreams. All in all, she just hopes for a fun, easy year.
