Moving past the bittersweet memories

After many months of “Rolling in the Deep” fever, British singer-song writer Adele has released the more subtle, melancholic song “Someone Like You.” This tear-jerking ballad tells the story of forgotten love from the perspective of a woman who has discovered that her former beloved is settled and happy without her. Adele passionately sings, “Never mind, I’ll find someone like you / I wish nothing but the best for you two.” It’s the last track off of her latest album 21, and it fits perfectly with the album’s subject of love gone bad, abused love, everlasting love—just love, period. It is quite the farewell and, therefore, an excellent closure for her successful album.
