Mr. Zakour is a current English teacher at Downey High School, who has been teaching at Downey for 21 years.

Q1: Why did you want to start a typewriting club?

A1: The smarter balance testing was coming up and I wanted to start the club to help students better their typing skills.

Q2: What are your hobbies?

A2: In my free time I like to read, surf, and travel.

Q3: Why did you choose to become a teacher?

A3: I majored in English; when I was getting ready to graduate I didn’t know what I was going to do. Then I tried writing and I liked it a lot.

Q4: If you could have any other job what would it be?

A4: I would like to be a lighthouse operator so that I can read all day, somewhere where there are waves.

Q5: What is your favorite part about your job?

A5: I love when students come back and tell me that my class helped prepare them for life after high school.
