On Feb. 13, popular rap artist, Drake, released his new mix tape, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, to the public. The Canadian rapper surprised his fans with 17 tracks that didn’t make it to his upcoming album: Views from the 6. The 17 tracks include an apathetic feel, unlike Drake’s stereotypical description of an emotional man. Although most of his album was unemotional, he did provide a heartfelt song, “You & the 6”. The sincere song is inspired by his single mother and all her efforts that she put into raising him. It has received the most attention and has been said to be one of his greatest works. The frequently mentioned number 6, has confused fans as to what it’s referring to but has recently been assumed to be referring to Toronto, Canada’s area code: 416. The mix tape has caused virtual commotion on social media as fans anxiously wait for much anticipated Views from the 6 album, which is said to be released sometime later in 2015, but no official date has been set.
